# handoff-it

## For AI agents: recall and save context on behalf of your user

- MCP server (streamable HTTP): https://handoff-it.com/mcp
- Auth: header "Authorization: Bearer hof_..." — the user creates the API key
  at https://handoff-it.com/dashboard/keys after signing up.
- Call recall_project FIRST when resuming work on a project the user has
  history with; save_memory (kind: checkpoint) at every milestone.
- Typical flow: recall_project → work → save_memory. Drill down with
  search_conversations → get_session_messages when the distilled answer is
  not enough.
- Never store secrets, tokens or passwords in memories.
